A special business breakfast was organized by Transparency International Hungary. Ambassadors, members of the Corporate Supporters Forum, individual supporters and partners of Transparency International projects were invited. The special guest was András Simor, the Governor of the Hungarian Central Bank. He talked about the “Price of Independence, Transparency and Accountability.
Andras Simor analysed the current economic situation and problems it creates. He acknowledged the harsh business environment and emphasize the role of the Hungarian Central Bank. He shared international experiences in solutions of crises and accentuate positive and negatives impacts of macroeconomic decision in the microeconomid environment. The Governor drew attention to the fact that without the independence of the Central Bank, leaving behind the current crises is an almost impossible task, and he also stressed the importance of accountability for all the members of the business sector.
The discussion became a forum of intensive questions and answers about the effect of the new tax systems and current credit decisions.
