Transparency International Hungary – along with other NGOs – has called for the position of The Venice Commission of the Council of Europe on the recently introduced amendment to the Constitution related to the powers of the Constitutional Court of Hungary.
In regard to the fact that the fight against corruption is relevant only in democratic states governed by the rule of law, and further to the fact that the Venice Commission’s assignment is the supervision of the application of the rule of law, Transparency International requests opinion of the international forum on the intended amendment, thus by learning the international obligations due to Hungary we may assist the work of the members of parliament.
