
In recognition of her valuable efforts to promote transparency, which is of utmost importance to the commercial relationship between the United Kingdom and Hungary, Her Majesty the Queen has graciously consented to make Noémi Alexa, Executive Director of Transparency International Hungary, an Honorary Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. Noémi Alexa has been the Executive Director of Transparency International Hungary since October 2007.

The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire was established in 1917 by George V. The Order comprises five classes in civil and military divisions. In decreasing order of seniority, these are: Knight Grand Cross (GBE) or Dame Grand Cross (GBE)Knight Commander (KBE) or Dame Commander (DBE)Commander (CBE) Officer (OBE) Member (MBE)
MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) is awarded for the achievement or service in and to the community of a responsible kind which is outstanding in its field or for very local ‘hands-on’ service which stands out as an example to others.
